Wow. It's rare to find traditional art of Jack Frost rendered so realistically. You did a great job shading Jack's face, especially his eyes. And that staff, it just GLOWS. *_* I love those misty swirls you added around the staff.I think a darker background would have brought them out more though, along with Jack's hair. Which looks like it's being blown by some wind, which is cool, but I think some of those curlier locks could have done with more cast shadow to make to make the hair more realistic. The ear bothers me - it looks too tilted forward and flat. More shading on the inside, near the ear canal, and on the outside edge, away from the head, would probably have helped. Still, this is a gorgeous drawing.
Your art is beautiful.Everything about it makes it almost real It has a stunning realism that makes special beyond any other that I saw. And seeing that it needed a critique, then i couldn't resist. Congrats, I hope that your art will be enjoyed for generations to come

i was looking at his face and i was like woaaahhhh ..then iread a critique and look at the staff and im like 'it looks like its glowing!!!' this is really awesome pic of Jack you did this so well!
i have a question if i may ask i have these types of pencils 2h,b,2b,4b,hb, and 6b what should i use for the shading in the skin and hair for this picture? [link] trying to make it look like the picture and my teacher keeps saying i need to make the hair look real and shade more and i saw this and thought maybe you could help me please?
Is it okay if you send me a work in progress with what you have? I'll be able to tell you much more clearly what i did and such xD also, i only used, F,Hb, HB2 and B2 for his hair, i didnt go any darker than that, i used the rest of the darker shades for his hoddie and the bg mainly. His hair is all about negative spaces and such for me.
